BFE Kiosk Support
BFE Kiosk turns compatible EPUB marketing publications into interactive presentations on an iPad. It is designed for trade shows, showrooms and other kiosk settings, with PIN-protected administration and configurable power-saving controls.
Getting started
Save your EPUB to a location accessible through the iPad’s Files app. Open BFE Kiosk, tap the top-left corner seven times and enter your administrator PIN. Import your EPUB using the file picker, and change the initial PIN when setting up the kiosk.
Check every page, link and video before using the presentation with visitors. Enable iPadOS Guided Access and start a Guided Access session to restrict the iPad to BFE Kiosk.
Publications are supplied separately. BFE Kiosk does not include Berminghammer’s EPUB or other customer marketing material. Use publications that you own or have permission to display. EPUB layouts and interactive features vary, so test your publication on the intended iPad.
Offline use
Imported content is stored on the iPad. Content packaged inside the EPUB can be viewed offline. External links, remotely hosted media and files being retrieved from a cloud provider may require an internet connection.
Troubleshooting
No publication appears: Open administration and import an EPUB from Files. A fresh installation does not include a publication.
An import fails: Confirm that the EPUB is fully downloaded, available in Files and opens correctly in an EPUB reader. Check available iPad storage, then retry. A failed import should leave the previously loaded publication available.
A video, link or layout does not work: Check whether it depends on an external website or remote media. Test it with an internet connection and ask the publication’s creator to check EPUB compatibility.
Visitors can leave the app: Enable Guided Access in iPadOS and start a Guided Access session. The app’s administrator PIN protects its settings; Guided Access controls leaving the app.
